Below is the Respiratory case study for this week. You do not need to write a formal APA paper. Even though the assignment is not a formal APA paper, your in text citations and reference list must be in APA format. Be sure to use proper grammar and punctuation. This is a two part assignment. Please complete both parts in ONE Word document. You will upload that one document via Turn It In. (Remember, Turn It In only allows for one file to be submitted, so BOTH parts of this assignment must be in ONE Word document).
Part I:
Develop a table discussing two different types of pneumonia. Include causative agents, risk factors, pathophysiology and manifestations, and treatment. Examples of types of pneumonia include Mycoplasma pneumonia, Pnuemococcal pneumonia, viral pneumonia etc.
Part II:
This part of the respiratory case study will focus on pediatric asthma. Please answer all questions below. Submit questions with evidenced based literature. Please cite appropriately and include references.
Discuss the patho-physiologic changes that occur in the airway of a child undergoing an asthma attack.
State the three most common triggers for a child which will an induce an asthma attack.
Create a table discussing the four classifications of asthma severity in children.
Discuss the difference between a quick acting medication versus a long-term medication in the treatment of pediatric asthma. What effect does each medication have on the lungs? Describe a scenario when a patient would use a short acting medication. Describe a second scenario when a patient would use a long acting medication.
