Comm Project: Literature Review
Once you have a strong handle on the literature, have completed the synthesis matrix, and have an outline/plan for your paper, it is time to get writing! This is the fun stuff. This assignment is the culmination of your research. It is your opportunity to dive deep into a topic you care about. You are going to assess the currently literature and will become an expert on this topic. Through this paper, you also have the opportunity to add to literature and understanding of this topic and to teach others – in an academic tone – what you know.
Academic Writing Process
For this assignment, you should:

Begin the academic writing process focusing on the following steps:
Organize your information with an outline.
Use your matrix assignment to write synthesized sections of your paper. Elaborate each section fully.
Finalize the introduction, conclusion, and abstract.
Format the title, running head, keywords, etc.
Edit the final paper for grammar and spelling.
Complete and submit your Final Literature Review. Please note the requirements below.
Content: Write a literature review paper that has the following sections, and use appropriate headers and subheaders in APA format:
Title page, with running head and author note.
Abstract with keywords. The abstract should be written last, and does NOT include citations. The abstract should include the information from your introduction and conclusion (issue, goals, significance of problem, outcomes & disparities, prevention, treatment, remaining challenges, future directions).
Introduction (no header – full title of paper should be at top of page 3). Explain the issue (cite sources) and present the aims or goals of your paper.
Content sections that include the following (in whatever order makes the most sense for your topic):The problem and its prevalence & significance, populations affected
Health outcomes and health disparities if relevant
Prevention science and/or programs
Treatment science and/or programs
Conclusion. Summarize the key points in what you discovered, and provide future directions or recommendations on what is needed going forward (no citations needed unless you are citing a specific solution).
References. Be sure you cite all sources on the reference page, and reference all sources cited in the paper.You must cite and reference at least 16 research articles that come from peer-reviewed journals, and be published within the past 5 years (no textbooks or other books).
You must also cite and reference at least three government web pages that provide information on data, policies, or programs, and be web pages or reports from government agencies worldwide, or the WHO (no non-governmental organizations or interest groups).
The paper should be a minimum of four pages of content, and a maximum of six pages of content double-spaced, 1” margins, 12-point font, and in professional APA 7th edition style, including title page, abstract, citation, and reference format (see Review: APA Rules 7th Edition in the Writing Bootcamp, 2022 USF COPH Masters Program Orientation).
