Hello again everyone! For this prompt, I’d like you all to analyze and give me your opinion on a trio of songs. The first is Static & Ben El’s “Further Up (Na, Na, Na, Na, Na)” featuring Pitbull. The second is Ini Kamoze’s “Here Comes the Hotstepper.” The third is Wilson Pickett’s “Land of a Thousand Dances” (it’s also called “Land of 1,000 Dances”). I know three songs might be a lot to listen to, but please give it a shot. Make sure you listen to each song at least once all the way through. Before you move on to the next song, jot down your thoughts on which parts of the songs you like. Is there a hook that you find catchy? Do you like the beat? Something else? Who do you think each song is for? How do you know that? Once you’re done listening to all the songs, compare and contrast them. Which one do you like best? What makes each one different? Why do you think I picked these three songs? Also, do a little research into who made each of these songs and when they were released. Try to think of who would maybe find these songs influential. Was there anything that surprised you?
