First paragraph: Begin the essay with a TOPIC sentence that clearly identifies your CORE belief and connects it to the heading. Reader should be able to figure out your core belief in first three sentences. Introduce the reader to what is meant by it, define and explain it in the rest of the paragraph. Conclude this and all paragraphs with a sentence that provides a bridge to the next paragraph (linking sentence).
Second paragraph: Discuss the roots of this belief, how was it formed, what makes it your core belief. Develop the rest of the paragraph by grounding the belief in specific events of your life (events that demonstrate the application of belief).
Concluding paragraph: Reiterate the core belief and its significance, explain how you see its influence in moving forward and specifically how it may help you in your coursework.
